Green Building Alliance advocates ceaselessly for green building principles in many forums. Our initiatives range from preserving our past with the greening of historic buildings to protecting our future through efforts to slow global warming.

Green Government Task Force
With Green Building Alliance as a key catalyst, the City of Pittsburgh formed a Green Government Task Force late in 2006 to create a plan for reducing the city’s energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

Greening of Historic Properties National Summit
Green Building Alliance and the Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation, collaborating with the National Trust for Historic Preservation, presented the “Greening of Historic Properties National Summit” in 2006.

Pittsburgh’s Climate Protection Initiative
The Pittsburgh Climate Protection Initiative is the city’s effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and slow the effects of global warming.
