DASH: Database for Analyzing Sustainable
and High Performance Buildings
Please note: DASH is a project in the works, and we are in the process of finalizing its structure. The goals and organization of DASH are being reviewed and refined, as are the proposed content and collection methods. Initial data input is scheduled to begin in late 2009.
DASH Database
The DASH database will be a user-friendly national repository for building data, although international information will be encouraged.
Building identification information will be anonymized and confidential, with partial identifying information possibly being accessible at different access levels, where appropriate and necessary.
The database will pursue a diversity of building types, geographic locations, and design methods.
The initial database will focus on new construction and major renovation/rehabilitation projects.
The DASH Database will offer data providers various levels of participation/data accuracy:
- Basic
- Intermediate (opt in)
- Advanced (opt in)
- Case study (opt in to research)
The proposed database structure contains 3 levels of increasing data, as shown in the figure.
Literature Review
DASH maintains a library of green, sustainable, and high performance building literature references.
Documents contained in the library will include information on:
- Metrics and standards
- High performance building features
- Conference proceedings
- Other relevant articles
References are cataloged and searchable by publisher, date, document type, and key words.
